Sweep past my bed tonight,
Oh Death! Come to me tonight,
In the shallow depth of darkness,
When not a single soul is awake,
Pay me a visit at midnight,
And off my life you take;
Not a single muscle moves,
Nor do I shout or quiver,
The lower jaw just falls a bit,
And out goes the last bit of air;
Complains I would’ve none,
About my life under the sun,
But I guess I was preparing for a journey all along,
A journey beyond the mountains, the seas & the songs,
So long my foes & friends,
I hope to see you at the point where worlds end;
So long my family; so long my love…
With love,
Yours truly…
